The world rankings of scientists and Universities are based on some data, but we would need always remember that behind these data and achievements are people, excellent scientists.
These people work hard, they endeavour in a hard research journey and they achieve degrees but also scientific publications. So, we talk about rankings (either personal or University’s), we need to remember and honour all these people!
In my view, I wouldn’t have achieved this without the amazing students (my “spiritual children”) who trusted me to be their mentor and the excellent technical support in the Universities of Leeds, Athens and Limerick!
